Wish Upon A Star

15-16 August 2009 | 10.00 am - 6.00 pm | Junction 8, Bedok Central & Parkway Parade

As an NVAC’s signature project, it is a simple wish granting programme that involves you adopting and granting the wishes of beneficiaries. Your effort in granting their wishes will definitely bring a smile to their faces. We would do so via setting up of several booths around Singapore. Do come down to our booths at the following locations to fulfil a wish. Your donations will be recorded and distributed to the respective beneficiaries at the end of the event. This year, with your generous support , we hope to grant many wishes from our respective VWOs.

Trail of L.O.V.E

22 August 2009 | 12.00 pm - 7.00 pm | VWOs & Junction 8 Open Plaza

Trail of L.O.V.E is a volunteer outreach programme of Charity Fiesta. We will have with us 200 student volunteers from various Secondary Schools and Junior Colleges around Singapore to spread their love to the beneficiaries of eight VWOs island-wide.

During this one-day event on 22 August 2009, our student volunteers will gather at their respective beneficiaries to embark on this wonderful journey of volunteerism. By 7 pm, all our student volunteers will gather at Junction 8 for the finale.

Through this segment, we hope that our student volunteers will have meaningful interaction with the beneficiaries, thereby encouraging active volunteerism. The in-depth experience at the VWOs will serve as a springboard for the students to link up with the beneficiaries, either at the individual level or school level, resulting in a long-term partnership between them. Equally important, this event is to publicise awareness for the beneficiaries.

Spread the Love

22-23 August 2009 | 10.00 am - 6.00 pm | Junction 8 Open Plaza

In this note of incandescent belief in human ability and service, Spread the Love, the highlight of the 2009 Charity Fiesta, seeks to celebrate and fortify the spirit of volunteerism in the society through an enlivening 2-day carnival held in Junction 8 on the 22nd and 23rd of August 2009. The carnival features a distinctive potpourri of booths and events, from student-manned carnival stalls and beneficiaries’ stalls to raise funds and awareness, encouraging the public to embark on their own volunteering journey, to all-round entertainment provided through enthralling performances by several choice acts, and friendly competitions.

Find the volunteer in you, for whom life is neither half full nor half-empty, but one to alleviate the thirsty. There is indeed no greater love than that which is shared in lifting someone up.
